We Only Sell Businesses
At ASG we sell businesses: That is our job. If you want to sell your distribution, e-commerce, manufacturing, service or professional company, we can assist you by doing the following:
- Providing a free business valuation
- Finding qualified buyers
- Locating lenders
- Managing the process to ensure confidentiality and an efficient, timely completion of the sale.
The businesses we represent are located in Los Angeles, Orange, San Diego, San Bernardino and/or Riverside Counties (and we occasionally accept clients from elsewhere in the US). We have some basic requirements for the businesses we accept as clients. While there is some leeway, the following are descriptive of the clients that we like to work for:
Geographically: 85% of our clients are located in Southern California; however, over the last few years we have closed transactions for clients located in Northern California, the Pacific Northwest, Nevada, Alaska, South Carolina, Kansas and other Midwest and Eastern States, and we presently are working for a client located in New York.
Established Businesses: We do not handle start-ups or businesses that do not have an established stream of revenue.
Established Profitability: While we have occasionally worked for clients who lacked current profitability, in those instances they were marketable because of their significant assets, patents, and client bases.
Size of Businesses: About 80% of our transactions have market values between one and fifteen million dollars, about 10% have market values below one million, and 10% above fifteen million. In recent years our largest transaction was over $30 million.
Diversity of Industries: We have sold a wide and diversified range of different types of businesses that would all fit under the general
headings of professional, service, manufacturing, e-commerce, software and distribution businesses.
Business Categories we Do Not Handle: Startups, restaurants, hotels, motels, taverns, etc.
As you can see, we concentrate our expertise on Seller Representation, and we are experts in the sales process, thus we are able
to competently and comfortably represent clients in virtually any industry. We have listed dozens of
different industries in which we have successfully closed transactions. We are masters of the process, as opposed to masters of any one or two
industries.

We Only Represent Sellers
We are Business Seller Representation Specialists and handle all of the necessary arrangements for our clients. We have extensive buyer databases, which we use to locate buyers for our clients. In addition, we develop customized marketing plans for each company we represent. Also included as part of our Seller Representation is the handling of the preparations for sale that can maximize after-tax cash for our clients while minimizing the risks associated with taxes, confidentiality and legal issues. This includes being a liaison not only between the buyer and seller, but also the lender, the attorneys involved in the transaction, the CPAs, escrow, the appraisers and all the other pieces of the puzzle.
How We are Compensated
We are a firm believer in Success Fees - we only receive compensation when the sale is successfully completed. Simply put, we only get paid when you get paid. While front-end fees are becoming common in the mergers and acquisitions industry, we at ASG believe that paying front-end fees (such as retainers, payment of expenses, valuation fees, consulting fees, advance payment of any form of compensation) to a business broker puts the seller at risk. What if the business broker does not perform as promised? With other intermediaries you may lose the up-front fees, whether there is a sale or not. When ASG represents your business, you only pay us when the transaction closes.
